I hold specialist qualifications in science communication, government and project management, as well as Bachelor's degrees from one of Australia's best universities. I began my writing career while still at university, creating marketing materials showcasing the work of top PhD students and popular science articles published in print magazines and online.
My experience in government includes both Federal and State government departments in permanent and contract positions. I have contributed to Cabinet submissions for the Department of Communications, created evaluation strategies for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, prepared high-level presentations for the Victorian Department of Education and Training, and written briefs for the Victorian Department of Economic Development and Resources. I have held multiple positions with not-for-profit organisations, including a board position, both in Australia and internationally.
What this means is that I understand what's needed to get a message across. I understand the differences between a document going to a high-level executive and one for social media. I know how to incorporate the right level of detail, how to persuade a reader, and how to make sure an idea is practical rather than just 'pretty'.
