Workshop: Introduction to Qualitative Methods in Evaluation

I’m delivering a workshop for the Australian Evaluation Society next month!

It’s all about qualitative methods in evaluation – focus groups, interviews, surveys, etc, and how to make the most of them.

I’ve designed this workshop to be an accessible, practical overview of qualitative methods and how to use them in evaluation. We’ll cover the range of options, when to choose different methods, and practical ways to collect and analyse qualitative data that lets you draw evaluative conclusions. The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to feel confident in designing, carrying out and analysing qualitative surveys, interviews and focus groups – especially those who are doing so in the near future.

If this sounds like something you’d like to join, click through to the AES website, and come join us! I’d love to have you.

Update: The workshop went really well!!! Here’s some of the feedback I got:

“Great trainer, great material, interesting discussions”

“I’d recommend it for anyone starting out in evaluation. It was a great overview of the methods and some very critical points to keep in mind when coming up with an evaluation approach.”

“I like the broad brush coverage of all the different methods. It was great to hear about some of the high level observations about why you would use certain methods, approaches and aspects to be aware of.”

“Martina is full of expertise and easy to listen to!”

So, the AES asked me to run it again. It’ll be on 14 and 21 October, online via Zoom. If you’re keen, click through and join! If you’re curious but unsure, send me your questions – happy to discuss and see if it’s right for you!
