One evening, I opened my email to see a subject line I’d never seen before: “ABC Radio – media enquiry“.
The email read:
Hi Martina
Rach Murphy and Lynne Testoni have suggested I reach out to you. I’m producing Sunday Mornings with Lisa Leong on ABC Radio and we’re putting together a segment on remote working.
But we wanted to push it WAY further. We want to talk to someone who is working REALLY remotely – and I’m told you did their podcast from a hammock in regional WA!
If you’re keen to explore the idea further, let me know!
Ummm, ok sure! That sounds fun!
Yes, it’s true that I recorded the Content Byte podcast from a hammock somewhere in WA (I forget exactly where lol), and I really think remote work isn’t as hard as people think. When I got this enquiry, I happened to be in far south Tasmania, too, so that was kind of perfect!
So, a few days later, I had an on-air chat with Lisa! The whole experience was fun and a bit strange.
